World's Strongest Man
During my time at Endeavor (IMG Media & Events), I developed a brand identity for the 2021 WSM competition that complimented the look & feel of the Old Sacramento Waterfront. Within the theme ''Wild Wild West,' I created location specific logo treatment, athlete shirts, credential badges, a large variety of event signage, and a social media toolkit.

The Location
Drawing inspiration from the California State Railroad Museum, the Delta King Hotel and other storefronts on the Old Sacramento Waterfront, I crafted an event identity with relevant typography, color and texture.

The Logo
Each year's competition has its own look & feel, including a logo mark and color palette that complements the location and WSM brand. The Tower Bridge was the perfect visual to highlight the Old Sacramento location.

The Creative
With this year's theme and location in mind, I drafted bold primary signage that would live at each of the events. To keep up with the competition's daily schedule, many pieces were designed to be interchangeable with velcro backing.

Some events were known to draw a larger turnout than others and had big sponsors, which meant some unique signage needs.
(Example shown: Keg Toss, event sponsored by Reign Total Body Fuel).

Some creative needs seemed small, but made a large impact on event operations (Example shown: color-coded credential badges).

We included a 'waterfront teal' color in our palette that was used to make a clear distinction between athletes and crew members.

The Photography
My creative director and I carefully considered how we could capture the event and the athletes authentically, celebrating their immense strength. We provided a shot list and creative considerations to the photographer, stressing the importance of honing in on their sweat, strained muscles, dirty clothes and facial expressions.
